A play by Sarah Elaine Stewart.

When I grow up I want to be a princess who falls in love

And sleeps on a bed of feathers and butterflies

And be a ballerina and sing songs

And be a mermaid with long blond hair

And leave a trail of breadcrumbs so I never get lost

And be like everyone else

You. Will. Be. Happy.

Tales from a generation on the brink of responsibility.

3rd, 4th, 5th March 2010 at the Albany Theatre

Slightly pretentious photo of us working and thinking and writing, but don’t look at the tea and Jammy Dodgers in the background.

Are our dreams unrealistic? Do our expectations have to diminish? Do we mortgage our lives on fame? Are we stuck in a rut? Or is this just how groing up goes?

We were devising a series of short scenes to highlight the changes the characters underwent from the allegorical world of the play to the ‘real’ world - a very creative rehearsal it was too!

We are rehearsing for quite a lot of the time underneath a church in Waterloo, its a very quiet part of London..this sign is on the back of the building, I don’t think you’ll ever see a more forceful or strongly worded sign anywhere!

We were all promised heaven in our lifetimes and what we ended up with can’t help but suffer in comparison. And God You get old so quickly
